OPPFOR Dirty Rotten Imbeciles ~DRI~
Mission SEEK & DESTROY ENEMY FORCE, ELIMINATE NUKE THREAT
Insertion/Extraction 160th SOAR. Night Stalkers Squadron. Airborne insertion. Helicopter extraction.
Background The United Nations international nuclear arms inspectors are in Iraq, although their mission is unrelated to the inspections the UN says must take place for sanctions imposed after Iraq's 1990 invasion of Kuwait to be lifted. The inspectors now in Iraq are a five member team from the International Atomic Energy Agency sent to ensure that Baghdad is not using its nuclear fuel to develop nuclear weapons. They arrived Friday under the provisions of the nuclear nonproliferation treaty that Iraq signed in 1968. It's the first time in more than a year that Baghdad has allowed international nuclear weapons inspectors to work in Iraq. Analyst's distrust Baghdad's motives. During their scheduled three to four days in Iraq, the IAEA inspectors are expected to travel to a former nuclear site called Tuwaitha to check on almost two tons of low-grade uranium, remnants of a secret Iraqi program to build nuclear weapons.

Central Intelligence Agency analysis indicates that a TOP SECRET group of Saddam Hussein's command staff has hired an elite merc force ~DRI~ as mercenaries to ambush and capture or kill the UN inspection team. If the team is captured they will be used as hostages. If they are killed Iraqi progress towards developing and deploying nuclear weapons in the region will continue unimpeded. If the ploy is successful, Iraq will become even more influential in destabilizing the Middle East. Satellite Intelligence corroborated by humint confirms that OPPFOR is on the ground in country and intends to ambush and destroy the UN inspection team.

The State Department in concert with the United Nations have determined =1FS= is the only covert friendly force with the background and expertise to respond to this threat.

Objective Quickly engage and eliminate the enemy forces at the training and staging bases before for the ambush can take place. By intercepting and destroying OPPFOR before they can launch their attack against the UN inspectors, the inspections will proceed as planned. The destabilizing threat will be eliminated, and the region will remain secure.
Intelligence Reports CIA with UN Intel sections reports that OPPFOR is comprised of well trained SpecOps troops. Several have actual combat experience and have seen action as mercenary forces in Africa, the Balkans, Central America and New Jersey.

After Action Report Mission failure.  ~DRI~ Repels, =1FS= escapes.

Exhausted as a result of intensive training exercises immediately prior to insertion, =1FS= was forced to engage the enemy without having its battle commanders on the ground. The first fire fight: =1FS= was ambushed and pinned down immediately.
=1FS= withdrew to regroup and rally for the next encounter. The second action Bravo Team regained composure but was unable to deal with the OPPFOR's superior knowledge of their terrain and was forced to withdraw once again. Out maneuvered by the opposition, Bravo Team engaged in a retrograde maneuver in order to take as much time and inflict as many casualties as possible on the enemy as they secured their perimeter.

Bravo Teams mission was not a complete failure. Because of the intensity of the engagement, ~DRI~ ‘s combat resources were so diminished that they were not able to meet their mission objective and ambush the UN Inspection Team. They escaped destruction this time. The world is treating this secret engagement as a non-event.

No casualties. No Wounded In Action.
