 Information
To add value to the =1FS= Team and Delta Force gaming experience, =1FS= has established a ranking system based on the actual United States Army enlisted and officer ranks. All =1FS= operatives have the opportunity to advance through the ranks by receiving promotions to the next higher rank.

All Operatives are reviewed monthly by Detachment Commanders supported by the Squad Command. Recommendations for promotions and the subsequent decision to promote an operative are made based on observable performance criteria. Promotions are decided by using both objective and subjective performance criteria.

The scheme takes into account: time in grade, unit service/activity, participation in practices, gameplay, shows of initiative and/or leadership, collateral duties (when applicable) and other activities and contributions supporting an outstanding =1FS= and Delta Force experience.

Any enlisted operative can be promoted through the rank of First Sergeant (E-8). Enlisted operatives assigned to the Staff can be promoted through the rank of Command Sergeant Major (E-9). If an enlisted operative displays outstanding skills either in field or through other significant collateral contributions he can be promoted to a Warrant Officer.

Commissioned Officers are chosen by the Squad Command. Commissioned Officers are selected from =1FS= operatives holding NCO ranks of Corporal (E-4) and above. Officer candidates are eligible for appointment to a Commissioned Officers post when/if an Commissioned Officers vacancy occurs. Additionally, Warrant Officers may become Commissioned Officers if appointed by the Squad Command to fill a Commissioned Officers vacancy.

The Rank Chart displays the ranking system, insignia, paygrade, and the approximate time in the current grade. The necessary listed time in grade is an indicative value.

How do I become a Commissioned Officer?
=1FS= has a clearly defined chain of command. The command structure demands that leadership positions be populated by Commissioned Officers.

The Squad Command is lead by "Staff Level" Officers. Staff Level Officers include 1 Commander and 1 Deputy Commander. The Squad Command may see the need for additional Commissioned or Non-Commissioned Officer roles at the staff level as is necessary and required for the effective operation of =1FS= (e.g. Server operations).

Combat Teams (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie) are lead by "Team Level" Officers which require 1 Detachment Commander and 1 Executive Officer (XO) for each team.

Officer positions are filled only when vacancies occur at the Staff or the Combat Team levels. Squad Command nominates and selects candidates for vacant officer positions from the Non-Commissioned Officers (E-4 or higher) currently existing within the ranks of the Combat Teams. Nominations are made by the Squad Command based on an NCO's displayed and observeable leadership ability, level of participation on the squad, and game play competency. Squad Command can make exceptions at its discretion.

Any =1FS= operative may petition the Squad Command in the event they wish to be considered a candidate for an Officer vacancy.

 Resignation of a Commissioned Officer
Any Officer in good standing may resign his commission if he feels that he cannot effectively discharge his leadership duties. Stepping down from an officer position is handled by petitioning the Squad Command and submitting a resignation. Because the Squad Command recognizes the value of an experienced operative who may have made the decision to leave a leadership role, the resigning officer in good standing does not need to feel compelled to leave the squad as well. In such an event, Squad Command will accept the resignation, the resigning officer will be placed back in the Team at the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6), and the operative will be considered for future promotions as a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) using standard promotional criteria.
